Part 2-Finding the Right Retailer
Learn the Methods of Extreme Couponing – Finding the Right Retailer
Not all retailers are equal when it comes to getting the most value out of manufacturer coupons. The biggest savings can be found at stores that double and/or triple manufacturer coupons. Many stores will double a manufacturer coupon with a face value of up to 50 cents, and triple a manufacturer coupon with a face value of up to 33 cents. This will obviously help you get the most out of your coupons. Be sure to find out the details of a store’s coupon redeeming policies, as many have limitations. Some stores will only double or triple a single coupon of each type, while others have limits to how many coupons you can redeem with each register transaction. Others only double or triple coupons on certain days of the week, so be sure to obtain all of the coupon policies from your local retailers to help you determine which will allow you the largest possible savings.
Another factor in finding the right retailer is whether or not they are friendly to extreme couponers. Large transactions can tie up and employee and a register for hours. Does the store keep up their customer service attitude throughout or do they become impatient and irritable? Although stores are required to adhere to their coupon policies, it makes for a much more pleasant experience to shop at a store that appreciates your business, even if you’re using coupons. It’s a good idea to introduce yourself to the store manager before attempting a large shopping spree to make yourself known to the store, and let them know your intentions of buying large quantities of product with multiple coupons and possibly multiple transactions. Many stores will assign you an experienced cashier and a separate checkout lane to help your transactions go smoothly. That is the type of experience you’re looking for, and if a store manager doesn’t act like his store is coupon friendly, it’s time to move on to another retailer.
